Device: Power and Perception Assist of Daily Lower-Limb Activities with an Exoskeleton Robot Based on Integrated Information
An intelligent lower-limb exoskeleton robot which assists the motor and perception abilities of a physically weak person is developed. User’s intended motion is estimated and assisted precisely based on the integrated information which consists of user’s electromyogram,
electroencephalogram, zero-moment-point, posture, motion, interaction with an
environment, etc. In the perception assist, the user’s motion is automatically modified by the robot to avoid unexpected accidents if there is a possibility of accident. Fall prevention
assist function is also added by the robot to make the motion stable. Machine learning technique is applied to make the robot intelligent in those novel functions
