Device: Multifunctional intelligent powered assistance wheel for wheelchairs
Our innovation consists of universal easy-detachable rear wheelchair wheels, equipped with an integrated self-balancing intelligent powered assistance, controlled by an innovative integrated user-interface. Embedded multidirectional sensors derive commands from the user interaction with the wheel. While being in balancing mode the user can overcome barriers without muscle power. Custom-designed lightweight motors deliver enough torque to overcome small obstacles. The rear wheels preserve original functionality, so the user can still manually take control of the balancing act at any time, providing a sense of control and security. Now users could perform every day’s tasks more intuitive, natural and faster than before.
