Device: Exomotion

We developed a full range-of-motion lower-limb exoskeleton, Exomotion, that allows the user to walk naturally with full freedom of mobility and independence. It is designed as an intelligent personal assistive device to solve the mobility challenge of wheelchair-users, minimize secondary health complications, and facilitate their return-to-work. Exomotion’s disruptive technology, which sets it apart from existing exoskeletons, is its patented hip and ankle joint mechanism that preserves the three degrees-of-freedom spherical movements of the corresponding biological joints that are required for natural locomotion and self-balancing. Our Finalist project’s goal is to develop Exomotion’s intelligent and compact ‘commercial-ready’ version for clinical trials.
